Distant Voices Academy operates based on three pillars integral to its growth strategy, which involve close collaboration with central government, sector unions, and the academic institutions grounded in the principles of good governance. By nurturing these relationships and adhering to sound governance practices, the organisation is able to foster sustainable growth and effectively contribute to the industry.

(1) Partnership 

Distant Voices works towards cultivating vital partnerships with the public sector, shaping courses to address the evolving needs of film and TV executives in the 21st century. Their focus on diversity and inclusion, coupled with input from industry leaders, ensures that education remains relevant and practical. These collaborations bridge the gap between academia and industry, assisting students with the skills needed to thrive in the entertainment sector.

(2) Union Alliance 

Distant Voices is collaborating closely with the leading television union to identify employment gaps and address potential opportunities within the film and TV industry. This partnership aims to ensure that the organisation's initiatives align with the industry's needs and provide relevant training and support to bridge the gaps and create pathways to employment.

(3) Governance 

Distant Voices places governance at the core of its business operations and upholds integrity as a fundamental value within the DNA of the academy. Safeguarding is of utmost importance to the organisation, and therefore, all members are required to obtain a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check before engaging in any work, emphasising the primary importance placed on ensuring a safe and secure environment for all involved.
