A Day In The Life - Josiah

Olubaike "Josiah" Bello embarked on a transformative journey when he successfully completed the Distant Voices Academy course, which honed in on the intricacies of general film and television. Prior to his enrollment, Josiah had already established himself as a dedicated video editor, amassing success on his YouTube channel. However, driven by a desire to grasp the comprehensive disciplines associated with the film and television industry, he sought further education. Despite attending Gloucester University for film and television, he found the training lacking in meeting his specific needs.

Upon graduating from the DVA course, our team encouraged Josiah to explore his unique path, pinpointing his specialization and interests. This endeavor led him to collaborate with the team at Kennington Studios, where he emerged as a prominent figure. Subsequently, Josiah assumed the role of lead director for a Channel 4 digital short produced by Distant Voices.

His remarkable journey has now taken him to Nigeria, where he is actively engaged in producing some of the most successful Nigerian music videos, showcasing how his passion, determination, and innate talent have not only shaped his trajectory but also defined his thriving work environment. In his current position as a second director, Josiah is afforded the opportunity to further refine his craft and receive guidance from some of the industry's best professionals. This collaborative learning environment not only contributes to his growth as a director but also underscores his commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in the dynamic world of film and television.
